# Microsoft 365 for the Mittelstand — managed as a building block, not a religion

What distinguishes us from a typical Microsoft partner? The direction. Most offers start at Microsoft 365 and build operations around it — whoever does not fit the scheme gets made to fit. We start at [operating your workplaces](/en/services/managed-workplace), which works vendor-independently, and Microsoft 365 is a building block within it: advisable for many, mandatory for no one.

That does not make us M365 sceptics — the opposite. Precisely because we do not depend on the platform, we can manage it honestly: cancel licences nobody uses, skip features that only lengthen the invoice, and lean in where the platform truly delivers.

## What we take on

- **Licences — itemised and actively maintained.** Business Premium, the E-tiers, whatever fits. Every licence on its own invoice line; unused ones get flagged for cancellation even though that reduces our revenue.
- **Tenant care.** Identities, permissions, sharing, security settings — the part that is almost always missing from "M365 is running". Grown tenants [get cleaned up without disrupting operations](/en/use-cases/m365-tenant-cleanup).
- **User administration.** Joiners, movers, leavers — accounts, licences, groups and permissions set and revoked consistently. Included from tier Managed.
- **Microsoft 365 backup.** Mailboxes, OneDrive and SharePoint as [their own protected workload](/en/services/backup) — with restore tests.
- **And the devices without Intune?** That is exactly what our operations are built for: our platform also manages devices that sit in no Microsoft management at all.

## How is it billed?

Licences run [as an add-on](/en/services/add-ons) — Microsoft list price, itemised per user, with the vendor's contract terms disclosed before you sign. The administration sits in your workplace tier; M365 backup is its own position per protected account.

## FAQ

**We are still deciding between Microsoft 365 and alternatives. Do you advise open-endedly?**
Yes — we earn on operations, not on the platform. There are cases where Microsoft is not the right answer, and we say so.

**Do you take over a tenant set up by another provider?**
Yes, that is the normal case: assessment, documentation, then operations. Clean-up work is a quoted project, not a permanent line item.

**What happens to our licences if we leave you?**
You take them with you. Licences run on your tenant, not on us — that too is part of "no lock-in".
